WELCOME TO THE VETERANS FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER OF THE ALBEMARLE!!!

Thanks to the many donations of furniture and office equipment from the community, the Veterans Family Resource Center of the Albemarle is now open at 1203 W. Ehringhaus Street in Elizabeth City!
The mission of Veterans Family Resource Center is to help improve the lives of veterans and their families in Northeastern North Carolina through education and assistance in the vast array of Federal and State veterans benefits and services for which they may be entitled, and to work toward making these benefits and services available to them within the local community.
There are over 17,500 veterans in the eight county area of Northeastern North Carolina. This number does not include active military or reserve duty military. Nor does it include their spouses, widows/widowers, children, or parents. Through the Department of Veterans Affairs, benefits are available to Veterans and their families including: Health, Education, Job Training, Insurance, Long Term Care, Housing, Burial and Death Benefits, Disability and Compensation, Veteran Entrepreneurial Benefits, and many more.
Northeastern North Carolina is over 15.2 million dollars a year behind in the NC State average in Veterans and their families receiving Federal benefits and services for which they may be entitled, not including additional NC State Veterans benefits. We will be holding workshops, both in-house as well as out in the community, not only for veterans and their families, but for various service organizations and providers, to learn how they can be part of this effort. Our Certified Service Officers are also available to provide one-on-one assistance.
